One day, Mike turned to Dave and said "we don't often do shows dedicated to talking about music. We should do!" Musical Musings is the lovechild of that discussion. Not that any impregnating happened during that....anyway moving on. We cover the fact that Metallica have more than one song (seriously, Enter Sandman is good, but there's alot to choose from!) We talk about Ronnie James Dio and his bad news. Stone Sour have a new album out in 2010 which equals good times. We talk about festivals and how Download is expensive. NME have listed their top 100 songs of the decade. Firstly, we feel old. Secondly, Johnny Cash - Hurt should be significantly higher. Thirdly, fuck off is the no-one song the best of the last ten years. There are random silences during this list while we listen to the songs. In this we talk about the breakfast, the journey there, the hotel, the Progressive Nation tour, the tube woman who almost faceplanted down the escalator and everything else about the trip. When the review is done, two segments follow. The first is a guidelines list for anyone wanting to be a goth, and embrace gothic lifestyle, and bow down to the elder goths. Basically, this show came about because we were nearly 1hr 15mins into the last show and hadn't touched upon any of the discussion topics, Cowbell News or Texts From Last Night. A lengthy TFLN starts the show. The discussion topics start with a group of "sexist" and "racist" phrases that could face being banned just incase they might offend people. We cover a campaign to stamp out the use of phrases such as "That's so gay" as everytime its used, its intent is to slur against every gay person whose ever lived, ever......apparently. We happily bid farewell to Big Brother, question whether Microsoft are nothing more than giant bunch of racists and look at the best 100 metal albums ever (according to the Greeks) and worst managerial reigns. Mike was linked to a porn DVD shop which sells DVDS called "Uhoh, There's A Negro In My Daughter!" so the DVD bios get read, just wow. Cowbell news includes an embarrasing infidelity punishment, woman fired for shouting over email, American animal charity worker kills her dog, Homo Sapiens Zoo signs appear in Bristol and a boy addicted to the internet killed at the rehab camp. Music from Aerosmith, Biffy Clyro and Travis.

This creates some debate with these lists and there are a lot of music clips to accompany it. Dave has the anger and Mike has the excitement about NIN coming to the UK. There is some news as well. This is a stupid woman and a polar bear enclosure, an american beating the demon out of his 3yr old, political smears and no10 downing street and some Twitter talk. Dave runs proceedings on this show. Starting off the show today is a review of the Nightwish gig which was discussed on the last show. There is some talk about Josef Fritzel and his ongoing trial. The Cowbell news in this show includes Hitler really liking an area of Britain, the worst good luck card ever, a man who used an interesting method of trying to calm down a cat, the return of el grande mexican and his new vehicle, a man who falls down a cliff...twice, another dumb robbery story, a 4yr old who owns an island, pubs with interesting ideas to beat the recession. It of course would not be a Cowbell news segment without a trip to Florida. Two new albums get reviewed in this show and theres a lightning strike list which is fun. Theres a debate over violent video games and their effects on people. The show also contains some discussions about the festivals in the UK, and one in Austria. Music from The Prodigy, Paramore, Lamb of God and Malefice.

A rushed show was recorded before Mike had to leave for London. In this show, we talk about Quiz Call and how stupid the show is. Dave talks about someone he encounters a few times a week and how it annoys him. Cowbell news in this show includes a slight over-reaction to an expensive restaurant bill, a guy who wants to go to prison, a teenager arrested for a theft motive which is just awkward, cannabis grower caught for showing step by step guide to growing on youtube, an armed hostage situation with an interesting weapon. Apologies for the delay in releasing this show. I'm lazy, end of. The show starts with transfer window talk. Mike then talks about an ebay annoyance. The end of the show is a test to see whether Dave should be deported. Before the show it was revealed Mike should be. Cowbell news on this show includes an OAP not caring for being ID'd; police who found a drug den after a baby called them; a baker who sells controversial food; why Iraq now has a shoe statue; a man who got his just desserts for trying to rape a raccoon; a 14year old little scamp who caused problems for the police in chicago. Stories include a local man who got fooled by an online scam, a complete failing of common sense when it comes to Dairy Milk, a complete lack of knowledge when it comes to a declaration about dyslexia, a complete lack of parenting when it comes to the sale of a daughter, a completely strange court decision which ok'd being drunk at work. All this, plus a man who did not know downloading child pornography was illegal. Music from The Flight of the Conchords, Sacred Reich and Overkill.
